Business Development Manager – International B2B brand (Life Sciences)Location: Remote

We are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive new revenue growth for our flagship life‑sciences brand, Drug Discovery World (DDW). Some existing account management will be required.

This is role is ideal for a commercially minded sales professional who enjoys opening doors, building relationships from scratch, and creating tailored solutions for international clients.

About Drug Discovery World (DDW)

DDW is a respected international media brand focused on early-stage drug discovery. Our audience includes senior decision‑makers, influencers, and specifiers within global pharmaceutical and biotech organisations.

Our commercial partners are companies supplying laboratory equipment, technologies, and services to this market.

DDW delivers content and demand generation services across a rich multi‑platform portfolio.

We are entering an exciting growth phase, with the launch of an in-person event series and guaranteed lead‑generation products, creating significant new business opportunities and earning potential for the right candidate.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of identifying, pitching, and winning new campaigns internationally, while also nurturing and growing selected existing accounts.

You will sell consultatively across lead generation, digital, webinars, print etc - working closely with clients to understand their commercial objectives and deliver measurable results.

New business development will be a core part of your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, target, and win new campaign clients globally
  • Pitch multi‑channel campaigns including lead generation, digital, webinars, print etc
  • Conduct consultative sales conversations to uncover client objectives and pain points
  • Build and manage a strong new‑business pipeline, consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Grow existing client relationships through upselling, cross‑selling, and long‑term account development
  • Negotiate commercial terms confidently and professionally
  • Accurately manage CRM activity (HubSpot), pipeline, forecasts, and contact data
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and contribute ideas for product and commercial development
  • Work closely with internal content, marketing and operations teams

About You

You are a driven, self‑motivated sales professional with a strong appetite for new business and international markets.

You will bring:

  • At least 2 years sales experience in B2B media, events, or digital 
  • Experience selling to large, multinational organisations, with an understanding of complex buying structures and multiple stakeholders
  • Proven experience selling across print, digital, and sponsorship products
  • A consultative sales mindset with the ability to tailor campaigns to client needs
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • A structured, data‑driven approach to pipeline and target management
  • Confidence working independently in a remote environment
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Willingness to work flexibly to accommodate international time zones
  • Enthusiasm for international travel and building face‑to‑face relationships

You are comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a small, ambitious team, and you enjoy contributing ideas that help a business grow.
