Our client in the health and personal care space is hiring a Retail Marketing Manager!
About the Role
We're looking for a Retail Marketing Manager to own retail marketing strategy across Walmart, Target, Costco, and regional retailers. This is a brand-first role, prioritizing candidates who have grown within a CPG brand and experienced a real retail launch. Target is the current focus, and the ideal candidate has firsthand experience with a brand launch into Target, including endcap strategy, promo planning, visual merchandising, and how a challenger brand shows up at retail. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role where you'll make strategic recommendations and help translate our brand voice across every retail touchpoint.
Key Responsibilities
- Own retail marketing strategy across our full retail account portfolio (Walmart, Target, Costco, and regional retailers)
- Evaluate retail opportunities across accounts you may not have direct experience with, applying strong retail landscape fluency to strategize what's available and worth pursuing
- Manage and develop our Retail Coordinator (direct report), with potential to oversee additional support (VAs or similar) as the team grows
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure brand voice and identity carry through consistently across all retail marketing efforts
- Bring brand marketing rigor and a "challenger brand" mindset to retail execution
Qualifications
- Non-negotiable: Direct experience being part of a CPG brand's launch into Target — able to speak specifically to the operational and marketing work involved (promos, endcaps, visual merchandising), even if not the lead on the launch
- Background in brand marketing at a growing/challenger CPG brand (food, beverage, snacks, protein, supplements, or similar categories) — think brands actively building retail presence, not established multi-channel retail veterans
- Comfort operating across a wide retail landscape, including retailers you may not have direct experience with (Meijer, Albertsons, etc.) — strategic thinking matters more than retailer-specific tenure
- Some people management experience preferred, but not required — mentorship available for the right candidate
- Entrepreneurial, "hungry" mindset — excited to build and own a growing function
- Comfortable working remotely and cross-functionally
