Role Overview

Digital Third Coast is seeking a Director of Growth & Client Success to own two critical growth levers:

  1. Winning new business
  2. Growing and retaining existing clients

This person will sit at the intersection of sales, strategy, and client leadership.They should be highly comfortable building rapport quickly, developing authentic relationships, and navigating conversations naturally with prospects, clients, and partners. 

They will help drive and convert qualified inbound opportunities, strengthen executive-level client relationships, identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and support account teams in high-stakes client situations.

This is an ideal role for someone who has experience with and truly understands the modern search marketing landscape including SEO, paid media, AI search shifts, and rapidly evolving client expectations in the current AI era.

Just as importantly, they should take the time to deeply understand what makes Digital Third Coast special, not only the metrics and case studies, but the people, history, values, and story behind the agency, so they can represent the company in a genuine and compelling way. 

Reports To: CEO

Team Size Supported: Sales + Account Management + Client Services

Core Responsibilities

1. New Business / Sales Growth

Own qualified opportunity flow from inbound leads, referrals, and warm introductions.

Responsibilities:

  • Run discovery calls with qualified leads
  • Understand business goals and diagnose fit
  • Present agency capabilities clearly
  • Build trust with senior buyers
  • Improve close rates
  • Collaborate on proposals and scopes
  • Help refine sales process

This is consultative selling, not hard selling.

2. Client Success & Expansion

Help maximize value from existing clients through stronger executive engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs)
  • Lead annual planning / strategy meetings
  • Identify upsell opportunities
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities across SEO / Paid Media / PR / GEO / AI services
  • Strengthen retention through strategic guidance
  • Build deeper stakeholder relationships

3. Strategic Client Leadership

Support account managers on sensitive or high-value client situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Help prep teams for difficult conversations
  • Review messaging before key meetings
  • Join escalations when needed
  • Rebuild confidence in at-risk accounts
  • Support pricing increase conversations
  • Help present strategic pivots or performance resets

4. Presentations & Executive Communication

Responsibilities:

  • Improve client decks and presentations
  • Coaching team on improving presentations
  • Help tell a stronger strategic story
  • Coach internal team on presentation quality
  • Raise executive polish in client communications

5. Market Intelligence & Positioning

Must understand the evolving search landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Speak credibly about SEO, paid media, GEO, AI search trends
  • Translate industry change into client opportunity
  • Help position the agency as forward-looking and strategic

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must Have

  • Strong sales and consultative closing ability
  • Experience in agency client services or account leadership
  • Very strong understanding of SEO and paid media services
  • Executive presence with clients
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to navigate difficult conversations calmly
  • Proposal/pitch experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience in search agency leadership
  • Familiarity with AI search / GEO trends
  • Experience growing existing accounts

Compensation Structure

Base Salary

$100,000+ depending on experience

Variable Compensation

Performance incentives tied to:

  • New revenue closed
  • Expansion revenue
  • Retention goals
