The Senior Manager, Retail Commerce, is a senior leadership role responsible for scaling the retail program to deliver Industry-Leading Studio Unit Economics and ensuring Studio Profitability First across the entire franchise network. This role shifts focus from traditional merchandising to developing and deploying precise operational Proven Playbooks: Easy & Optimized. Reporting to the VP of Growth Marketing and Digital, the manager ensures the retail program enhances the Omnichannel Journey and contributes to brand awareness, loyalty, and the aspiration of leading the way as the #1 Franchisor dedicated to Women's Wellness. The Senior Manager, Retail Commerce, leads all operational strategy, planning, supply chain, and execution oversight across Franchise Studios, Company Owned Studios, E-commerce, and Wholesale channels. This role also owns full end-to-end digital execution of the barre3 retail program, including day-to-day site merchandising, product management, order operations, and e-commerce analytics. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operational Planning & Profitability (Studio Profitability First)
- Planogram & Visual Execution Strategy: Develop standardized, data-backed retail planograms and visual merchandising guidelines for all studio types (Company Owned and franchise). Ensure these are created, documented, and communicated as Proven Playbooks: Easy & Optimized
- Inventory & Margin Strategy: Develop and implement the overarching strategy for inventory management, including full-price and markdown strategies across all channels (studio, e-commerce, wholesale) to maximize margins and achieve Studio Profitability First
- Supply Chain Oversight: Manage the retail supply chain strategy, including vendor relationships, inventory transfers, logistics, and warehousing to ensure efficiency and cost control
- Warehouse Management: Own alignment, relationship management, and coordination with the warehouse to ensure accuracy, optimization, and timely order fulfillment
- Financial Reporting: Own monthly financial reporting, providing data-driven analysis of sales, margins, sell-through, and inventory health to the leadership team, aligning with the strategic pillar of Leading with Data
- Accounting Reconciliation: Independently own accuracy for forecasting, budgeting, and inventory levels in coordination with the accounting team
- Mariana Tek Sync: Assist in ensuring the digital inventory reflects accurately in the broader POS ecosystem where applicable
- Digital Execution & Site Merchandising
- Shopify Content Management: Take full ownership of day-to-day digital operations, including new product uploads, high-res imagery management, and tagging for searchability
- SKU & Meta Management: Execute the end-to-end setup of all new products and maintain perfect data integrity for SKUs
- SEO Optimization: In partnership with the Performance Marketing team, write and optimize all product descriptions and meta-tags to drive organic site traffic
- Digital "Planograms": Maintain the visual flow of the Shopify shop and wholesale sites, ensuring "Always in Stock" items and seasonal collections are featured according to strategy
- Site Audits: Conduct weekly walkthroughs of the site to fix broken links, update out-of-stock statuses, and ensure promotional banners reflect current campaigns.
- Campaign Setup: Build and test discount codes and automated promotional triggers for national and seasonal sales.
- Price Adjustments: Execute markdown strategies and clearance pricing in the Shopify/ecommerce backend.
- Order Flow Troubleshooting: Act as the liaison between customer service and the warehouse to resolve any technical issues preventing order fulfillment.
- Marketing Sync: Work with the Digital Marketing team to ensure landing pages align with email and social media "Coming Soon" campaigns
- Cross-Functional Asset Coordination: Work collaboratively with Creative, Marketing, and Production teams to ensure timely creation of assets required to support seasonal launches.
- Program Management & Franchise Success
Franchise Playbook Deployment: Own the content development and delivery of all ongoing retail education (Owner's Digest, The HUB content, Franchise Calls, training) to ensure the network can successfully implement the Proven Playbooks: Easy & Optimized and receive Business Coaching for Success.
- System Integrity: Manage the operational integrity of retail in Mariana Tek (POS) and other inventory systems across the network, ensuring accuracy and ease of use for franchisees
- Communication: Serve as the main strategic Retail communication liaison with Owners, fielding emails and calls as required to provide leadership and clarity on operational and promotional plans
- Omnichannel Strategy & Growth Marketing Integration
- Seamless Customer Journey: Collaborate with the VP of Growth Marketing and Digital to integrate the in-studio retail program with digital strategy, ensuring a unified One Brand Experience that is "Easy and Seamless for Her"
- Promotional Strategy: Guide the strategy for national and regional sales promotions, ensuring execution is clean, efficient, and measurable across all channels to drive sales and support the goal to Reach Broader Audience to Drive Brand Awareness
- Strategic Assortment Input: Cross-functional collaboration on assortment selection, focusing on items that support the brand's premium identity and align with the vision to Expand Product Offerings as a trusted partner for well-being
- Marketing Sync: Work with the Digital Marketing team to ensure landing pages align with email and social media "Coming Soon" campaigns

- Leadership Assignments: Complete any additional projects or tasks as assigned by the VP of Growth Marketing and Digital and other leadership
KPI's
- Overall Retail Program Profitability: Retail Gross Margin Percentage or Net Profit
- Inventory Health and Efficiency: Sell-Through Rate (for seasonal/promotional items), Inventory Turnover Rate (annually); Always in stock" props
- Omnichannel Integration and Revenue: B3 retail program YOY growth
- Franchise Operational Compliance: Franchise Studio Compliance (based on planogram execution, Mariana Tek system integrity, and adoption of Proven Playbooks)
- Franchise Studio Owner Satisfaction
- Promotional Effectiveness: Return on Promotional Investment (ROPI) or Lift in Sales during Promotions
- Site Accuracy: 100% accuracy in product pricing and promotional code functionality
- Conversion Rate (CVR): Maintenance or growth of the e-commerce conversion rate through better merchandising
- Time-to-Market: New collections are live and "shoppable" within 24 hours of warehouse processing
- Data Integrity: Minimal discrepancy between digital inventory levels and actual warehouse stock
Requirements

- Operational Excellence: Proven expertise in retail operations, supply chain, inventory planning, and logistics
- Strategic Planning: Highly skilled in developing and deploying structured retail strategies, planograms, and field execution guides (playbooks)
- Analytical & Financial Acumen: Expert ability to analyze financial metrics (margin, COGS, sell-through) and use data to drive profitability and inventory decisions, demonstrating a commitment to Leading with Data
- Hands-on Shopify Expertise: 2+ years of direct experience managing a Shopify backend (including apps and integrations)
- E-commerce Operations: Experience owning day-to-day digital operations including site audits, promotional campaign setup, order flow troubleshooting, and warehouse coordination.
- Analytical & Reporting Skills: Ability to independently pull and analyze weekly performance reports (Top Sellers, CVR, AOV) and provide data-driven insights without reliance on a dedicated analyst.
