The Africa Health Organisation (AHO) is evolving. It aims to create an online shop system to enhance sustainability and positively impact more lives by providing robust health and social care in Africa. We seek assistance in creating an effective e-commerce system and strategy. What difference will you make? As eCommerce Manager, you help AHO by driving online sales and growth, enhancing the customer experience, and strengthening the overall brand through digital channels. You oversee all aspects of an online store, using a blend of strategic planning, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Drives sales and growth
- Boosts revenue You develop and implement digital marketing strategies, including SEO, paid ads, and email campaigns, to increase website traffic and convert visitors into paying customers.
- Increases conversion rates By optimising the website's user experience (UX), you reduce cart abandonment and ensure a seamless path to purchase. This includes A/B testing different site elements to see what performs best.
- Expands market presence You identify and manage new sales opportunities, such as launching products on marketplaces or exploring social commerce, to reach a broader audience.
- Manages promotions You plan and execute strategic sales and promotions to attract new customers and drive revenue growth.
Enhances the customer experience
- Optimises website performance You oversee the day-to-day management of the online store, ensuring it is user-friendly, loads quickly, and is optimised for both desktop and mobile devices.
- Improves on-site content You ensure all product listings feature high-quality images, accurate descriptions, and relevant information, which helps build customer confidence and drive sales.
- Creates personalised journeys By using customer data, you can implement personalisation strategies, like targeted product recommendations, that guide shoppers through the sales funnel.
- Oversees customer service You manage customer service teams or processes to ensure inquiries are handled promptly and professionally, which increases customer satisfaction and retention.
Shapes business strategy
- Provides data-driven insights You analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) like traffic, conversion rate, and average order value (AOV). They report these insights to stakeholders to inform and guide broader business strategy.
- Manages budgets You oversee budgets for digital marketing and other e-commerce initiatives, ensuring a profitable return on investment.
- Conducts competitive analysis By researching competitor activities and staying updated on market trends, you help the company remain competitive and adapt its strategies accordingly.
- Coordinates cross-departmentally You serve as a vital link between different departments, including marketing, IT, and logistics, to ensure all online activities are aligned with company goals and executed smoothly.

- Technical expertise Proven experience managing an e-commerce platform (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce) and a strong understanding of web design and UX principles.
- Analytical and data-driven mindset Ability to analyse web traffic and sales data to inform strategy and business decisions.
- Digital marketing knowledge A solid grasp of digital marketing strategies, including SEO, paid media, and email marketing.
- Communication and leadership Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and management reports.
- Organisational skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced, digital environment.
- Problem-solving A proactive, problem-solving attitude with the ability to troubleshoot website issues and implement effective solutions.
- Commercial acumen Strong business management and financial skills, with experience managing budgets and achieving sales targets.
Qualifications And Experience
- Educational background A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as marketing, business, or IT is often preferred, but not always essential.
- Relevant experience At least four years of experience in an e-commerce, digital marketing, or online retail role is typically required.
- Portfolio A proven track record of driving growth in an e-commerce business, often demonstrated through past results
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in e-commerce management (B2C or D2C preferred)
- Strong commercial acumen and a love for data
- A creative mindset with a passion for customer experience
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g. Adobe Commerce, Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.)
You must be able to demonstrate We don't need you to be an expert on everything, but these are the must-haves
- At least 4 years of experience working within an e-commerce brand where the data proves growth
- Minimum 2 years in a management or leadership role within e-commerce
- E-commerce and digital marketing expertise, ability to demonstrate expertise in at least three key areas, including but not limited to;
- Content creation, Email marketing, SEO, PPC, Influencer Marketing, Social media marketing (organic and paid), CRO and UX
- A professional, self-motivated individual who thrives in fast-paced and high-pressure environments
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all work
- Curious and passionate about continuous learning, staying up to date with the latest digital marketing trends
- Analytically minded, able to interpret data and produce insightful reports
- Creative thinker who can translate brand identity into engaging digital content

We're seeking a dynamic, experienced eCommerce Manager to develop and execute a robust e-commerce system and strategy to attract new shoppers. Key Responsibilities
- Strategy and planning
- Develop and implement an e-commerce strategy to drive online sales and market share.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new growth opportunities.
- Align the e-commerce strategy with the company's broader business objectives.
- Website management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and management of the e-commerce platform (e.g., Shopify, Magento).
- Ensure the website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and provides a seamless customer journey.
- Work with technical teams on website development and maintenance, including new features and performance optimisation.
- Product and merchandising
- Manage online product listings, including uploading products, writing descriptions, setting prices, and managing promotions.
- Coordinate with merchandising and inventory teams to ensure optimal stock levels and accurate product information.
- Develop product-level financial, operational, and customer goals and targets.
- Digital marketing
- Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, paid advertising (PPC), email marketing, and social media.
- Collaborate with internal marketing teams and external agencies to maximise online visibility and traffic.
- Performance analysis
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), such as traffic, conversion rate, and average order value.
- Use web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to gather insights and identify areas for improvement.
- Regularly report on performance to stakeholders and provide data-driven insights.
- Customer experience
- Oversee and improve the end-to-end customer experience, from initial site visit to post-purchase support.
- Coordinate with customer service teams to ensure high customer satisfaction and efficient issue resolution.
- Team and budget management
- Manage e-commerce budgets and sales forecasts.
- Lead and develop the e-commerce team, which may include content creators, designers, and analysts.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive end-to-end ecommerce growth strategy
- Drive profitable growth for AHO while supporting broader group objectives
- Be hands-on balancing strategy with execution, with some support from colleagues and agency resources
- Optimise customer journeys through UX and CRO, using insight-driven improvements
- Maximise multi-channel sales growth across SEO, PPC, paid social, email, and emerging platforms
- Manage, scale, and, where appropriate, launch ecommerce marketplaces
- Adopt a data-led approach, producing analytical reports that drive strategic insights
- Identify, implement, and manage business intelligence tools for advanced reporting
- Coordinate closely with our team and provide cross-brand support. Collaboration is key within our business, while you will be the key driver of your primary brand, you will also give and receive support to all our brands
