Are you a social-first leader who lives at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and community? A fast-growing, mission-driven direct-to-consumer brand is looking for a Director of Social Media & Content to own and elevate its organic presence across key platforms.

The Opportunity

As Director of Social Media & Content, you will define and execute the brand’s social vision end-to-end. You’ll build and lead a high-performing team, develop platform-specific strategies, and partner closely with Growth, Creative, CX, and other cross-functional teams to ensure organic social is a powerful driver of brand, engagement, and revenue. This role reports into the VP of Growth.

What You’ll Do:Set the Social Strategy

  • Create a holistic social media strategy aligned with broader marketing and business goals.
  • Define clear KPIs across channels (engagement, reach, traffic, revenue impact, and halo effect on site performance).
  • Identify opportunities on emerging platforms and new feature releases.
  • Champion an experimental, test-and-learn culture across formats, trends, and campaigns.

Lead & Develop the Team

  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing social media and content team.
  • Oversee workload, priorities, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to ensure content ladders up to strategic goals.

Own Platform Excellence

  • Drive best-in-class execution across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snap, Pinterest, and other key platforms.
  • Stay ahead of trends, tools, and algorithm changes to keep the brand competitive.
  • Monitor competitors to uncover whitespace and opportunities for differentiation.
  • Lead setup and integration of tools that optimize workflow and performance (e.g., Sprout Social, Gorgias integrations).

Run High-Impact Campaigns

  • Oversee ideation, planning, and execution of cross-platform campaigns that amplify brand storytelling and drive organic growth.
  • Partner with performance marketing, email/SMS, and eCommerce teams to align organic efforts with paid and revenue goals.
  • Lead influencer and creator strategy to ensure brand alignment and maximize ROI.
  • Own review generation strategy across platforms like Trustpilot, Thingtesting, Meta, and TikTok, and integrate UGC and reviews into social and content plans.

Optimize Processes & Operations

  • Streamline social media monitoring and response operations, ensuring SLAs, macros, and quality standards are met.
  • Ensure full utilization of the tech stack, including Sprout Social and Gorgias integrations.

Leverage Data & Insights

  • Own reporting on agreed KPIs that ladder up to business outcomes.
  • Produce weekly and monthly results decks with key learnings and clear, actionable recommendations.

Partner Across the Business

  • Serve as the main bridge between Social and CX, ensuring a consistent brand voice and aligned strategy.
  • Collaborate with product, PR, acquisition, retention, and creative teams to deliver cohesive storytelling across all customer touchpoints.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (Master’s is a plus).
  • 7–10+ years in social media strategy, digital marketing, and/or content, ideally within high-growth eCommerce or DTC brands.
  • Proven experience leading and scaling social and content teams.
  • Demonstrated success driving measurable growth from organic social.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with TikTok, Meta (Instagram/Facebook), Snap, Pinterest, and emerging platforms.
  • Experience with multi-million-dollar social budgets is a plus.
