CONNECT Idaho: A New Networking Initiative
POCATELLO — A new networking group, CONNECT Idaho, is making waves by assisting local business owners and entrepreneurs in expanding their connections and growing their businesses. Founded by local entrepreneur Morgan McKell, who also serves as the Senior Community Director, this initiative aims to create a thriving community for business professionals.

The Vision Behind CONNECT Idaho
Morgan McKell, who moved to Pocatello two years ago, is the mastermind behind Strategy Zoo, a company specializing in tailored marketing strategies. His entrepreneurial journey includes founding a successful cell phone repair business that expanded across several states and establishing a digital marketing agency.
Recognizing a need for genuine networking opportunities, McKell launched CONNECT Idaho six weeks ago as an offshoot of the successful CONNECT Utah network. This initiative is the first of its kind outside of Utah, offering a welcoming environment for local business owners to connect.
Weekly Meetings and Opportunities
The CONNECT Idaho – Southeastern group meets weekly at Señor Garcia’s Puerto Vallarta, located at 1600 Pocatello Creek Road. The group fosters a supportive atmosphere where professionals can interact without the burden of membership fees or contracts.
“There are no membership fees and no need to RSVP before you come,” McKell emphasizes. “We just ask that you buy a lunch to support the restaurant hosting us. Come check it out. It’s all about building real, authentic relationships.”
During the luncheons, attendees have the opportunity to deliver a quick elevator pitch at no cost. For those seeking more exposure, a 15-minute Business Overview with Q&A is available for a $35 fee.
Inclusivity and Growth
“CONNECT Idaho is inclusive — from realtors to roofers. We welcome all types of businesses,” McKell states. This inclusive approach has already led to remarkable success, with members transitioning from part-time to full-time work due to the connections made within the group.
Before launching CONNECT Idaho, McKell established East Idaho Mastermind, a mindset and leadership group that meets on Monday mornings at Gate City Coffee. This group has attracted a diverse network of business owners across the region, emphasizing leadership and personal development.

While both groups serve unique purposes, they complement each other well. CONNECT Idaho focuses on relationship-building and direct referrals, while East Idaho Mastermind emphasizes leadership development.
Future Expansion Plans
Looking ahead, McKell has ambitious plans to expand CONNECT Idaho into neighboring cities such as Blackfoot and Idaho Falls. “The goal is for CONNECT Idaho to host groups in neighboring cities,” he explains. “We already have interested businesses out of Idaho Falls.”
