PR Account Manager – Sports, Outdoor & Tourism

Location: Italy (Remote, with travel for events and meetings)

Who we are

Vitesse is a communication, PR and events agency specializing in sports, outdoor, and tourism. We work with international destinations, major events, global brands and sports federations, helping them tell their stories through media relations, digital strategies, and on-the-ground activations.

We are a fully remote team - we don’t use a central office, but collaborate every day through a mix of synchronous and asynchronous tools, meeting in person when it really counts: for events, client meetings, press rooms, or big opportunities to make things happen. And for our own gatherings, of course.

The role

We’re looking for a PR Account Manager to lead and support communication campaigns, media relations, and client management for high-profile projects in Italy and internationally.

This isn’t a standard 9-to-5 office job. You’ll work with flexibility and autonomy, organizing your time to deliver results - sometimes that means working over a weekend and taking a weekday off when the schedule allows. What matters is impact, reliability, and being present when it matters most.How we work

• Presence is required only when needed: physical events, client meetings, PR moments, team gatherings - and yes, sometimes that means weekends.
• Proximity helps - while we welcome applicants from across Italy and beyond, being based in Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, or Lombardia is a plus, as it allows for better involvement on our projects.
• We work in synchronous and asynchronous ways. We respect each other’s time and rhythm – and communicate clearly.
• You’ll work as a self-employed professional, with the autonomy and mindset that comes with it.
• Our tempo is real-world. Sometimes you’ll work on a Sunday and go ride your bike on Wednesday – and that’s just fine.

What you’ll do

• Plan and execute PR and media strategies for international and Italian clients in sports, outdoor, and tourism.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with clients, media, and partners, acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Write and edit press releases, media pitches, and editorial content in English and Italian.
• Build and maintain targeted media lists and develop strong journalist and influencer relationships.
• Organize and oversee press trips, media events, and conferences, ensuring seamless execution and impactful coverage.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on media results and KPIs.
• Collaborate with the Vitesse team to craft creative campaigns and business proposals.
• Be on-site at events and activations when needed, representing the agency and our clients.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in PR, communications, or media (agency or in-house), ideally in sports, outdoor, or tourism, is a very valuable asset.
• Excellent writing and spoken skills in English and Italian (German and other languages are a plus).
• Proactive and confident communicator:
• Comfortable picking up the phone and talking to journalists.
• Steps forward in dynamic environments - from press rooms to client briefings.
• Drawn to where the action is, and happy to help make it happen.
• Strong storytelling, pitching, and project management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
• A passion for outdoor and active lifestyles is a plus. An attitude for communication and making things happen is a must.
