Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Social Media Analyst to support social analytics efforts within our in-house social media team. This is a high-profile, individual contributor role where your expertise in social media metrics, reporting, and insights will directly inform business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, advanced Excel expertise, and a proven ability to create dashboards, develop KPIs, and monitor social media trends that elevate the company’s social presence.
Contract Details:
- Contract Length: 6–12 months
- Start Date: ASAP
- Work Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday–Friday (possibility of additional hours, but not guaranteed to reach 40)
- Start Time: 8:00 AM ET (occasionally 9:00 AM ET)
- Timezone: Eastern Time only
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, standardize, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with business and social media goals.
- Build queries and dashboards to track and visualize data.
- Track, analyze, and report on organic and paid performance metrics across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and X.
- Monitor and report on social media conversations, volume, sentiment, and trends using Boolean search and social listening tools.
- Provide regular benchmarking against industry standards and competitors.
- Present actionable insights and performance reports to executives, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with marketing and business teams to provide data-driven recommendations that inform and optimize content strategies.
- Implement tagging strategies for campaigns to improve accuracy and depth of reporting.
- Stay current with industry best practices, trends, and platform/tool updates.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in social media analysis, including social listening and reporting.
- Proficiency with social media analytics tools such as Sprout Social, Meltwater, Brandwatch, and native platform analytics.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other advanced functions required).
- Strong PowerPoint skills with experience in executive-level presentations.
- Experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of major social platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok.
- Strong track record of developing KPIs and reporting frameworks that align with business objectives.
- Analytical problem solver with the ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to tailor insights for multiple audiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
