NiB is seeking a passionate and experienced Marketing Lead on a volunteer basis to help elevate our communication efforts. What difference will you make? Neurodiversity in Business (NiB) we are a business forum and industry group for organisations to share industry good practice on ND recruitment, retention and empowerment. We want to support businesses in building a better workplace for Neurodivergent employees, access Neurodivergent talent and support Neurodivergent people to navigate independent, fulfilling careers. Our aim is to work collaboratively with our members to improve conditions for Neurodivergent people in employment. What are we looking for? You’re an experienced marketing professional with an interest in contributing to a cause-driven organisation. You thrive in a flexible, volunteer-led environment and have the ability to manage multiple tasks while staying focused on key strategic objectives. Ideally, you will have Start-up Experience Experience in start-ups or small organisations where you’ve had to build structures and functions from scratch. Independent & Resourceful Comfortable working independently and solving problems creatively. Communication Skills Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience in proof-reading and editing. Leadership Experience Previous experience managing teams, providing constructive feedback, and delegating tasks effectively. Digital & Design Tools Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, project management tools, content scheduling tools (like Canva or Adobe Suite), and design software. What will you be doing? As a Volunteer Marketing Lead, you will oversee a small team of marketing and communications volunteers (8-12 people at a time), ensuring they are well-supported, empowered, and aligned with the charity’s goals. In this role, you'll focus on developing and executing high-quality marketing and communication strategies that drive corporate membership and support our fundraising initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a charity that is making a difference, helping us expand and enhance our offerings for individuals and partners. Your responsibilities will include Team Management Onboard, train, and offboard marketing and communications volunteers; conduct weekly meetings to stay aligned on progress and objectives. Social Media Develop and execute social media strategies across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. You’ll manage content scheduling, publication, and monthly performance reports with analytics. Website & Resource Hub Help maintain and update our website, collaborating with the volunteer team to improve its functionality. You will oversee metrics and provide recommendations for improvements. Corporate Member Communications Work closely with the events and membership team to ensure brand consistency in all communications, including PowerPoints and collateral. Ad Hoc Projects Annual Conference Support Help guide the theme, design, and social media elements for our annual conference, collaborating with the team to deliver impactful content. Collateral Review Review and suggest improvements to marketing materials, ensuring accessibility and alignment with our brand values. Future Opportunities As our charity grows, new opportunities may arise that can be tailored to your expertise. These may include Public Relations Managing press releases, white papers, and building press contacts. Collateral Library Working with the team to build a media library of content (video, photography, written material). Research Contributing to research reports on neurodivergence at work, creating PR materials, and supporting events. Product Development Input into future products, such as training courses or partnerships, if the need arises.
