About MatesInvest
MatesInvest is building the social layer for investing in Australia.
We’re creating a platform where investors can connect their brokers, share portfolios, discuss opportunities in groups, follow markets together, and discover ASX and property insights in one place.
Right now, we’re moving from early beta into public launch. We already have an engaged waitlist, active Meta campaigns, and a product roadmap focused on becoming a daily-use platform for Australian investors.
This is not a “maintain the socials” role.
We’re looking for someone who wants to help build a consumer startup from the ground up and genuinely shape how the company grows.
You’ll work directly with the founders across growth, product, content, partnerships, onboarding, community, and user acquisition.
If you enjoy testing ideas quickly, building growth loops, understanding user psychology, and turning data into action — this role is for you.
The Role
MatesInvest is looking for a Growth & Community Lead to help drive user acquisition, activation, retention, and brand growth as we move into public launch.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in startup environments and wants genuine ownership over growth.
You’ll be responsible for helping turn MatesInvest into a platform people check daily.
What You'll DoOwn growth experiments and acquisition channels
- Launch and manage campaigns across Meta, Reddit, LinkedIn, TikTok, email, and influencer/community partnerships
- Test new growth channels, sponsorships, referral systems, and partnerships
- Monitor CAC, activation rates, retention, and conversion metrics
- Identify scalable acquisition opportunities and double down on what works
Help shape the product growth engine
- Work closely with founders and developers on onboarding flows, notifications, referral systems, and activation
- Help improve user journeys from sign up through to broker connection and ongoing engagement
- Contribute ideas that increase retention and daily active usage
Build community and engagement
- Grow and manage MatesInvest’s social presence and brand voice
- Help launch and manage investor communities/groups within the app
- Work with creators, finance personalities, universities, clubs, and communities
- Create campaigns and content that people actually want to share
Use data to drive decisions
- Analyse funnel performance and user behaviour
- Identify drop-off points and opportunities across the platform
- Run A/B tests and report insights back to the team
- Help define key growth metrics and dashboards
Who We're Looking For
- 2–5 years experience in growth, performance marketing, startup marketing, community growth, or digital marketing
- Comfortable moving fast and figuring things out without needing layers of management
- Strong understanding of Meta Ads and modern acquisition channels
- Understands consumer psychology, viral loops, and user engagement
- Analytical and data-driven, but still creative
- Strong communication and copywriting skills
- Interested in investing, finance, startups, or tech
Bonus points for:
- Startup experience
- Experience growing consumer apps
- Experience with lifecycle/email marketing
- Experience building communities
- Basic design/content creation skills
- Understanding of investing or the ASX market
