Social and Video Producer
Job Description
Posted on: April 7, 2026
Laura & Ko. is an anti-agency that exists to give independent brands the strategy, creative direction, and execution that's always been locked behind agency prices. Our clients are small to medium businesses stepping into their next phase. They're ready to grow, done with the guesswork, and are building something that lasts.
We're looking for a 1.5-2 day per week video and social media producer (casual or contractor, working arrangement and hours will depend on the successful candidate) to join the team. You'll start by working primarily with 1-2 clients, with the goal to grow with Laura & Ko. and take on other client work as it comes up.
The role:
This is a role for people who view social media as the craft it is. You'll be able to take long-form content and turn it into sharp, platform-native clips that stop the scroll, earn the share, and build an audience. You'll be able to create static posts that balance design with authenticity, posts that give value, that encourage people to keep reading.
What you'll do:
- Watch long-form content and identify the clips worth cutting: insights, reframes, ideas that capture audiences
- Edit short-form clips natively for LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
- Create carousels and supporting assets in Canva (or similar.
- Schedule and publish content across platforms using Meta Business Suite
- Write captions that are SEO-friendly
- Track trends, performance and contribute to monthly reporting
What we're looking for:
- Strong short-form video editing skills: you understand pacing, hooks, and why the first two seconds matter
- Platform fluency across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube Shorts.
- Experience editing videos in Premiere Pro is a plus
- An editorial eye: you can watch an hour of conversation and find the 60 seconds that matter
- Organised and reliable: you can manage a weekly content pipeline without being chased
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- ideally, an interest in independent brands, founders, or small businesses
- Sydney or Melbourne based is preferable, but the role is mostly remote so we are happy to broaden those horizons for the right person.
Experience running your own channels or creating your own content is highly valued. We're looking for someone who understands editing and storytelling, not just scheduling.
What we offer:
- 99% remote working: work where you want besides the (very) occasional in-person shoot or meeting if you are based in Syd/Melb
- Create your own schedule. As long as you hit the deadlines, do the work in your own time!
- A role that grows: as Laura & Ko. takes on more clients, so does your portfolio
- A small, collaborative team that moves fast and cares deeply about the work
- Work that matters: we back independent brands that are building something worth following
How to apply:
Send a CV and a cover letter telling us why this role interests you and what you'd bring to it. Please also include:
- Examples of content you've created, including video editing examples
- Any personal channels or social accounts you run
