Kehillah Studios is dedicated to building a community of African/Black creatives to promote African storytelling through animation, film, and art/design. Our vision is to empower African creatives to bring African stories to life, both locally and globally. Kehillah Studios offers training in various creative disciplines such as Animation, Filmmaking, Games Art, Photography, Sound Design/Music Production, and Graphic Design through workshops, networking opportunities, development days, and seminars. We aim to create a community where African creatives produce visuals that promote African storytelling, Christian values, and moral ethics.
Role Description
This is a volunteer remote role for a Marketing Manager. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, managing social media accounts, creating marketing content, conducting market research, and expanding the reach of Kehillah Studios. The role involves collaborating with team members to promote workshops, events, and training programs. Additionally, the Marketing Manager will work on increasing brand awareness and engaging with our community of African creatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and Executing Marketing Strategies: Creating and implementing comprehensive marketing plans aligned with overall business goals, identifying target audiences, messaging, and appropriate channels for reach.
- Managing Marketing Campaigns: Overseeing the entire lifecycle of campaigns across various platforms (digital, print, social media, email, events, product launches), ensuring brand consistency, adherence to timelines, and budget management.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conducting in-depth market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and market trends, as well as analyzing competitor strategies and market positioning.
- Leading and Managing the Marketing Team: Hiring, training, and managing marketing professionals (including graphic designers, copywriters, social media managers, etc.), providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.
- Budget Management: Creating and managing the marketing department's budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment (ROI).
- Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyzing campaign effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results and reporting findings to senior management.
- Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, such as sales, product development, and customer success, to ensure cohesive messaging and aligned marketing efforts.
- Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of the latest marketing trends, technologies (including AI applications in marketing), and best practices to ensure strategies remain relevant and competitive.
Qualifications
- Marketing Strategy and Market Research skills
- Social Media Management and Content Creation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Experience in the creative or non-profit sector is a plus
