Role Summary
We’re seeking a high-performing part-time Social Media Manager to lead strategy, execution, and growth across GamesBeat’s social media channels — from LinkedIn and X (Twitter) to Instagram, Facebook, and emerging platforms. You’ll be responsible for developing data-driven strategies, managing daily content calendars, supporting sponsorship campaigns, and growing engagement among executives and decision-makers in gaming, tech, and media.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and analytics — a strategic storyteller who understands how to use social to drive awareness, engagement, and conversions across B2B and event ecosystems. You’ll collaborate closely with editorial, marketing, and events teams to amplify our storytelling, promote campaigns, and grow our audience and community year-round.
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute a cohesive social media strategy across all GamesBeat platforms (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, TikTok, etc.).
- Own the social content calendar — from planning and posting to optimizing timing and cadence.
- Collaborate with editorial and marketing to align social storytelling with upcoming events, campaigns, and key news moments.
- Translate company goals into actionable content strategies that grow reach, engagement, and audience quality.
Content Creation & Campaign Execution
- Write and edit compelling copy tailored to each platform’s tone and audience.
- Manage visual production (in collaboration with designers) — including graphics, short-form video, stories, and carousels.
- Support branded content and sponsorship campaigns through social activations, ensuring client deliverables are met.
- Execute paid social campaigns, including audience targeting, budgeting, and performance tracking.
Community Engagement & Growth
- Build and nurture an engaged online community of industry professionals, sponsors, and creators.
- Monitor conversations and trends to keep GamesBeat relevant and responsive.
- Actively engage with partners, speakers, and sponsors to amplify collaborations and event moments.
- Drive attendance and conversions for GamesBeat events and GB MAX membership through creative, timely campaigns.
Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
- Track KPIs including engagement rate, follower growth, referral traffic, conversions, and ROI.
- Deliver monthly social performance reports with actionable insights and next steps.
- Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithms, and new tools — continuously testing formats and optimizing strategy.
- Collaborate with marketing leadership to align social analytics with broader marketing goals (events, subscriptions, sponsorships).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales, events, and editorial teams to promote major announcements, panels, and initiatives.
- Ensure social campaigns align with editorial voice, event branding, and sponsorship commitments.
- Support client-facing campaigns with reporting, screenshots, and metrics for wrap-up presentations.
- Act as the go-to expert for all things social — from trend spotting to platform best practices.
Key Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience managing brand or media social accounts, preferably in gaming, tech, media, or B2B.
- Proven success building and executing high-performing organic and paid social campaigns.
- Expert in LinkedIn and X for B2B communication; strong understanding of Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Experience running paid social campaigns, including ad creation, targeting, and optimization.
- Strong creative writing and editing skills — able to craft platform-appropriate, on-brand messaging.
- Familiar with tools like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite, or similar.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and juggling multiple campaigns and priorities.
- Data-savvy with a solid grasp of social analytics and reporting (Google Analytics, native insights, etc.).
- A balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution — thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with sponsorships, branded content, or partner amplification campaigns.
- Background in event marketing or B2B community building.
- Familiarity with digital media ecosystems and content syndication.
- Graphic or video editing skills (Canva, Premiere, CapCut, Adobe Suite) are a plus.
