About the role: AWAKE is seeking a strategic, engagement-focused Community Marketing Manager to lead our social media strategy, grow our influencer marketing initiatives, launch an ambassador program and execute sampling and sponsorship opportunities. The ideal candidate is both creative and analytical—someone who lives and breathes social media, thrives on connection, and knows how to turn brand love into measurable impact. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll be the connective tissue between our content partners, internal teams, and growing community—shaping how AWAKE shows up online and how we build lasting relationships with our audience. You'll collaborate closely with our internal marketing team and creative partners to bring our content to life—while owning community growth, influencer strategy, daily social engagement, and the expansion of our ambassador programs. Whether you're sparking conversations on TikTok, empowering ambassadors to share their AWAKE story, or identifying grassroots opportunities, you’ll play a key role in driving visibility, loyalty, and love for the brand.
Responsibilities:
- Own and Elevate Social Strategy & Execution (Organic + Paid): Lead strategy, planning, and execution of social content across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Stay hyper-attuned to cultural trends, memes, and platform nuances to keep content fresh, relevant, and shareable. Collaborate with the internal marketing team and creative agency to deliver highly curated content aligned with brand goals, seasonal campaigns, and promotional priorities.
- Lead Influencer & Gifting Strategy (in partnership with PR agency): Collaborate with our PR agency to identify, activate, and nurture a diverse mix of paid and in-kind influencer partnerships. Own the process—ensuring each collaboration authentically represents the brand and drives meaningful impact. Leverage data and insights to continuously refine targeting, messaging, and platform approach.
- Engage & Grow the AWAKE Community: Actively manage daily engagement across all platforms. Respond to comments, DMs, and trends in the brand’s voice. Be the eyes and ears of the brand online—sharing community insights, identifying conversation opportunities, and reporting sentiment to cross-functional teams.
- Lead Ambassador Program Strategy & Activation: Build and grow a powerful network of brand ambassadors—including students, healthcare professionals, and everyday “Not Your Avg. Joe” champions. Design recruitment strategies, onboarding journeys, and engagement playbooks. Partner with internal stakeholders and external collaborators to drive reach, advocacy, and content creation.
- Execute Grassroots Sampling & Sponsorships: Spearhead strategic sampling, brand partnerships, and sponsorships that drive product trial and awareness. Manage event presence and local activations that authentically connect AWAKE with key audiences. Stay agile and entrepreneurial, identifying high-impact opportunities on- and offline.
- Measure Impact & Optimize Through Insights: Regularly analyze performance across social, community, and influencer channels. Manage A/B tests, report learnings, and refine strategy based on data. Apply intellectual curiosity to uncover trends, experiment with content formats, and help the team make smarter, faster decisions.
About you:
- You have a bachelor’s degree or college diploma in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- You bring 2–4 years of experience in social media or community marketing—ideally within food & beverage, CPG, or a fast-moving consumer brand.
- You are hyper connected. Always online, rarely missing a trend or hot topic, and have a presence across multiple platforms
- You are a content genius. Story teller’s mindset who naturally frames things in terms of shareable content, skilled in the tools of the trade (video creation, captioning, meme use or creation), and recognizes the importance of posting consistently
- You have branding savvy. Understands the importance of curation and able to establish a clear tone and aesthetic, and always delivers a sense of authenticity
- You are a consummate networker. Navigating seamlessly through various groups and communities, able to collaborate productively with influencers, consumers and other brands
- You have an analytical side. Intellectually curious, concerned about ‘why’ as much as ‘what’, able to manage A/B tests and understand cause and effect
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit. Passionate about growth, able to solve problems in real time, and good instincts for recognizing opportunity.
- You’re organized, accountable, and execution-focused. You can juggle calendars, campaigns, and content without dropping the ball.
- You're a clear communicator and creative problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- You're familiar with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite, TikTok, IG, Klaviyo, Microsoft Office, Shopify, and social scheduling platforms (e.g., Later, Sprout, Hootsuite).
Location: Remote with the expectation to travel 1-3 times/quarter for events or to the home office in Toronto, Canada
Compensation: TBD based on experience
