We are partnering with a fast-growing international events organisation that has recently acquired a leading climate and sustainability-focused conference entering its 5th year. The event has rapidly established itself as a flagship gathering within the global climate ecosystem, convening over 8000 senior leaders from business, investment, policy, technology, and innovation to accelerate real-world climate solutions.
As part of its next growth phase, our client is seeking an experienced Head of Marketing to lead the strategic and operational marketing direction for this high-profile B2B conference portfolio.
The Opportunity
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering the marketing strategy for a globally recognised event operating at the intersection of climate innovation, corporate sustainability, investment, and policy.
You will own the full marketing lifecycle, from audience growth and brand positioning through to delegate acquisition and campaign performance, while working closely with internal teams and specialist agency partners who support execution across key channels.
This role combines strategic ownership, hands-on delivery, and team leadership, with strong external collaboration across agencies and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the overall marketing strategy for a flagship international B2B conference and associated programmes
- Drive delegate acquisition, audience growth, and brand positioning within senior professional audiences
- Own campaign planning across digital, content, partnerships, PR, and performance channels
- Manage and optimise marketing budgets, forecasting ROI and performance metrics
- Work closely with external marketing and creative agencies to deliver campaign execution and fulfilment
- Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, partnerships, production, and leadership teams
- Oversee content-led marketing initiatives aligned with industry trends and thought leadership positioning
- Analyse campaign performance and continuously optimise marketing effectiveness
- Build scalable marketing processes to support future portfolio growth following acquisition
About You
You are a commercially minded marketing leader with strong experience delivering results in complex B2B event environments.
Essential experience:
- Proven senior marketing leadership experience within B2B conference or large-scale professional events(essential)
- Track record of delivering successful delegate acquisition campaigns
- Experience marketing to senior professional audiences (corporate, investor, policy, or innovation communities)
- Strong strategic planning combined with hands-on execution capability
- Experience managing agencies and external partners effectively
- Data-driven approach to performance marketing and campaign optimisation
- Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment
Highly desirable:
- Experience within sustainability, climate, technology, or purpose-driven sectors
- International event marketing exposure
- Experience supporting events undergoing growth or repositioning following acquisition
